ABOUT
Since 2015, Black Boys Code has been on a mission to equip Black youth with the technical skills, mentorship, and representation they need to thrive in a world guided by tech innovation.
We offer more than just coding lessons. Through hands-on programs in computer science, AI, and robotics—delivered by Black STEM professionals—we empower boys to see themselves as future innovators, leaders, and change-makers.
For many of our students, this is the first time they’ve been taught by someone who looks like them. That visibility matters. It shifts what they believe is possible.
To improve the future of Black youth through education in computer science and technology.
For Black youth to identify the skills and talents they possess to realize their full potential, and be prepared for success as tomorrow’s technology leaders and innovators.
Black Boys Code was founded to help close the representation gap in tech. Only 1.8% of teachers in Canada are Black, and too many Black youth grow up without seeing role models in STEM.
Black Boys Code fills that gap by creating direct access to Black mentors and hands-on tech education. Our programs give youth the skills, exposure, and confidence to imagine — and build — their place in STEM.
We help youth build self-belief through mentorship, creativity, and real-world problem-solving.
From AI to robotics, students gain practical experience that prepares them for success in the tech industry.
We foster belonging by connecting students with Black educators and tech professionals across North America.
With chapters across Canada and the USA, we’re creating a movement in communities across North America.
